While President Barack Obama delivers his last State of the Union, hip-hoppers are still ecstatic over the fact he met with leading rap artist Kendrick Lamar.
It all started when the President stated in an interview with People, that K Dot’s “How Much a Dollar Cost” from To Pimp a Butterfly was his favorite song of 2015.
Kendrick’s label, Top Dawg Entertainment, release a one-minute visual titled “Pay It Forward,” which shows the Compton rapper reflecting on the influence mentors have had on his path to success.
In the clip narrated by Kendrick, he plays basketball with a kid in the park fostering mentorship, while photos of his meeting with President Barack Obama at the White House appear throughout.
